I just want to say that this has been the best and most helpful workshop I have EVER attended. You [Megan Malone] and Dr. Camp put on a really big show in a way that is fun and educational too. What a concept! I'm hoping that I can get everyone motivated at my facility

The Myers Research Institute offers in-depth training in Montessori-based Dementia Programming® and Spaced Retrieval

This training is beneficial to Activities, Rehab, Social Work, and Nursing staff, as well as Administrators and Dementia Care Coordinators. Our training is backed by years of research and has received glowing reviews from those who have been through the program--see comments below.

In these days of new CMS guidelines for activities which emphasize psychosocial outcomes in activity and therapeutic recreation programming (F Tags 248 and 249), it is more important than ever to incorporate programming that not only meets the new guidelines, but has a meaningful purpose and is scientifically validated. At the Myers Research Institute, our Montessori-based Dementia Programming® and Spaced Retrieval training programs not only teach you new techniques and activities, but deal with the real world issues of implementation strategies, staff training, and questions surveyors are likely to ask. Our programming addresses the whole person and involves them in cognitive, social, and physical activities. For an overview of the techniques and concepts covered in our training seminars, click one of the links below.

Participants who attend our one-day training seminars are eligible to take a certification test and receive a certificate indicating that they have received training in our interventions and techniques and are certified to implement them. Those who take the two-day course and pass the certification test are eligible to undergo more rigorous testing to become credentialed to train staff in the facility in which they work.
